Edsel Oliveira is Principal and founder of ReachOut Business Solutions, a consulting firm that helps international companies successfully enter the U.S. market. ReachOut Business Solutions provides expertise in the areas of sales and marketing, technology, ePcommerce, operations, distribution, accounting, and human resources. Mr. Oliveira brings 20+ years of management experience in helping international companies establish and significantly grow their U.S. operations. He is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Prior to founding ReachOut Business Solutions in January 2014, Mr. Oliveira was Director of Operations for Grendene USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Grendene, Brazil. Grendene is one of the largest manufacturers of footwear in the world ($1.1 billion in annual revenue) and leader in the Brazilian market. The company’s brands include Melissa, Rider, Grendha, and Ipanema, and the company also licenses numerous brands.
Mr. Oliveira led the launch of the U.S. distribution operations in Orlando, FL. Starting with 3 employees and a 3,000 square foot warehouse, Grendene USA grew under his leadership to 30+ employees and a highly efficient 70,000 square foot distribution center. Mr. Oliveira was responsible for all daily operations, including branding, product marketing, supply chain management, logistics, CRM implementations, retail management, media strategy and negotiations, website operations, human resources, and financial reporting.
Prior to Grendene USA, Mr. Oliveira was Marketing Manager with Duratex, S.A. in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Duratex is a subsidiary of Itausa, the largest industrialized wood panel, metal fittings, and sanitary ware manufacturer in the Southern Hemisphere.
With Duratex, Mr. Oliveira was responsible for all marketing efforts for the Deca and Hydra brands. This included advertising, media, promotions, and public relations. He handled media planning and negotiations in the areas of TV, magazine, direct mail, and trade shows.
Mr. Oliveira holds an M.B.A. from University of Phoenix, a Post Graduate in Marketing from ESPM, and a B.A. from FIAM in Sao Paulo. In 2014, he also completed a MiniPMBA certificate program in Digital Marketing from Rutgers University.
