US Economy Growing by 3% in the Third Quarter of 2017

The US Commerce Department has reported better than expected continued growth in the third quarter for the US econmy despite the devastation of the hurricanes. GDP has grown at a rate of 3% per month from July to September compared to the expected 2.4% and meeting President Trump's targets.

President Trump has promised  to return the  US to sustained 3% annual GDP growth or higher but economists have been touting this as unrealistic. The President is wasting no time in taking credit for the economy's strong performance although his economic agenda has still not been finalized.

3rd quarter growth  has shown strong investment in business and consumer spending, both of which were partially offset by slowing down in the real estate market.
