Hurricane Irma Spares Disney In It's Path of Havoc
By: Sabrina Orlov •
Florida took a beating from Hurricane Irma but Walt Disney World theme parks and Universal Orlando are breathing a sigh of relief as both reopened within a couple of days of the storm passing through. Many destinations through-out Florida remain closed as the after effects of the storm are still being felt and clean up continues as electricity outages are still being repaired and downed trees are removed.
It is estimated that the storm, which at one point over the Atlantic was the most powerful hurricane in recorded history, will have a severe impact on the state financially but the impact is yet unkown. Initial figures estimate the damage will cost between $20 billion and $40 billion.
